MSD Protocol
Check content integrity, signer validity, and provenance without depending on the originating application.
Data loses verifiable context as it crosses APIs, pipelines, and models. MSD Protocol is an open protocol for signed, verifiable structured data and common file artifacts, so integrity and provenance can be checked independently of where the data came from.
The problem the protocol solves
Once data leaves the system that produced it, proving it is authentic and unaltered usually depends on that original system. The protocol removes that dependency.

The design keeps verification portable.
• Content-addressed structure so data identifies itself.
• Signatures that establish who produced the data.
• Portable metadata that carries provenance with the content.
Supported formats and honest maturity
The protocol supports a range of structured data and file artifacts, each with a realistic maturity label. It supports offline verification, with optional identity and trust services when you need them.
Open and inspectable
The specification, repository, contribution guide, and roadmap are open. The SDK is currently early alpha, and messaging should not imply production standardization or external adoption beyond available evidence.
